I was debating whether to talk about K-pop on this blog, but what’s a personal blog for, if not to talk about stuff you enjoy? Here’s some of what I was listening to this August.
Warning: multiple Youtube embeds below
#1 – Key, of course!
As a Shawol, I’m admittedly biased, but I don’t think there’s another artist in the industry who knocks it out of the park as consistently as Key with his attention to concept, and he released another banger this month in the form of “Hunter”. I listened to it so much that he crushed almost all the competition on my Last.fm charts for the month, and this is going to be a shorter post than July as a result!
#2 – Junhee
Junhee of A.C.E released his solo song “Supernova” with a fun video and an infectiously funky melody that made it my second most-listened song of the month:
#3 – IVE
IVE is one of my favorite girl groups and they had a comeback closer to the end of the month. Although I didn’t feel it was on par with their best work thanks to a somewhat disappointing chorus, “XOXZ” was still catchy enough to win the spot of third most-listened this month.
What were your favorite new K-pop releases in August?
