I was debating whether to talk about K-pop on this blog, but what’s a personal blog for, if not to talk about stuff you enjoy? So here’s some of what I’ve been listening to this month!

Warning: multiple Youtube embeds below

ATEEZ‘s “Lemon Drop” was humid as promised. Hello, summer! 🥵 I’m also very intrigued by the teaser at the end. They’re re-releasing the Golden Hour: Part.3 EP as a full album (Golden Hour Part.3 ‘In Your Fantasy Edition’) on July 11, so hopefully they won’t keep us in suspense for long!

XLOV is a rookie group that debuted earlier this year with a genderless concept. Their first comeback “1&Only” is a pleasant Afrobeats song:

Hearts2Hearts is SM’s newest girl group, which must be some intimidatingly large shoes to step into when your predecessors include the likes of aespa, Red Velvet, f(x), and the Nation’s Girl Group themselves: Girls’ Generation. Their second single “Style” is cute and energetic:

fromis_9 is a veteran group that released another of my favorite girl group songs of the month, the big, bright, and summery “Like You Better”:

ONEWE is one of my favorite K-bands. Their brother group ONEUS released the very fun “X” on June 30, to squeak in under the wire as a last-minute contender for favorite K-pop song of June:

I also wanted to give an honorable mention to this cover of “Your Idol” from Netflix’s new movie Kpop Demon Hunters, by Junhee of A.C.E:

What were your favorite K-pop releases in June?
